HOW TO CHOOSE AND APPLY PERFUMES FRAGRANCE LAYERING
FIRST - DO NOT „RUB”
Probably most of us start rubbing our wrists just after applying the fragrance to our skin. This is perhaps one of the most intuitive habit when using perfume. Only few, however, know that in this way we literally distort the composition. It cannot develop gradually and independently on the skin. Especially it concerns pyramid scheme fragrances, where all the notes – top, heart and base – come out in fixed order. We are to discover their beauty step by step, as time passes. The moment the fragrance is rubbed, all the notes mix together, which destroys their harmonious structure. The best advice would be to leave the composition unrubbed, letting it develop freely.
SECOND - DO APPLY CORRECTLY
In order the fragrance is to be scented well and last as long as possible on the skin, you do not need to spray it several times from head to toe. The best method will be to use perfume in body points where the heart pulse is the most discernable. It will make the scent activated by heat the most noticeable. Such points are located in the inner wrist and the neck. If we are not satisfied enough, we can also use the perfume under the knees or on a deep cleavage. These points will ensure the long-lasting scent without a need of too many applications.
THIRD - BEWARE OF THE CLOTHING
Who of us doesn’t like our clothes smelling great? Especially with wonderful, luxurious perfumes. The fact is, fragrances love fabrics and stay on them much longer than on the skin. Unfortunately, the fabrics do not reciprocate that feeling – at least not all of them. If we decide to apply perfume on clothes, choose the dark ones, which do not dye and discolor.
The oils used in perfumes can make fabrics yellow or fade, and alcohol can affect the pigment permanently. Sometimes it can be noticed only after a certain period of time or after washing. It does not always happen but be careful not to damage unintentionally your favorite clothes.
FOURTH - MOISTURISED SKIN
Probably only few of us know the trick. Well, each fragrance will last even longer if we apply it to well-moisturized skin. Therefore, before using the perfume, we can apply an unscented lotion or an olive on. The „greasier” the skin is, the longer the fragrance remains. That is why niche and luxury fragrances have a much richer and oily consistency than EDP or EDT.
FIFTH – THE WIND IN YOUR HAIR
Wind or maybe perfume? The best solution would be a hair mist becoming very popular recently… Although hair mists smell fainter than perfumes, they should be your first choice for hair application. They will be much safer for the hair structure than perfumes with a higher alcohol content. Hair, like fabrics, likes to absorb fragrances. Being applied on hair they last much longer than applied on the skin. That is why fragrance mists are a very interesting solution, especially for the summer, holiday period, where they are a ”must-have” in every woman’s beach bag.
